Runner’s Gift Guide 2020: Presents under $100
So. You know a runner who is in need of a Christmas gift? Luckily for you, I also run on occasion and know a few things that the runner in your life might enjoy… unless that runner in your life is an actual Grinch. Then I’m sorry, find a new runner friend. Now, if you’re looking for smaller gifts, then stay tuned for my Stocking Stuffers post next week!
Note: All of these gifts would fall into a category of want not need. I figure you can find a million other running shoe/running clothes gifts in every other Christmas List for Runners… also most running shoes that I would add to a list would be over $100 anyways.
First on the list is…
Water Bottle
Every runner needs a water bottle… and new water bottles are an exciting and useful gift. Seriously. You really can’t have too many. Some fan favorites are the Hydroflask or the Camelbak insulated bottles for everyday use. Other water bottle options such as the Osprey or Nathan handheld are useful and easy to carry during runs.
Running Book
If your runner is a reader, they may enjoy a book about the subject! Here’s a list of books that I currently wouldn’t mind finding under the Christmas tree:
Medal Display
Every runner needs a cute medal display (Hint hint to any friends and family members who’d like to gift me one). Be proud of those medals damnit! Show them off! Here are a few that. think are cute
Cookbook
Does your runner like to cook? Buy them a cookbook! They have cookbooks geared specifically towards runners. If your runner doesn’t cook too often, maybe it will encourage them to stop eating Raisin Canes everyday and cook something at home!
Subscription Box
I only just discovered this while creating this list and figured it HAD to be on the list! While most people are familiar with subscription services like FabFitFun and Ipsy, not everyone is familiar with more niche boxes. I introduce to you a couple different subscription boxes completely tailored to runners!
Yes I am about to drop money to get all of these subscription boxes. Reviews to come!
6. Foam Roller
Always a useful gift. The Trigger Point Foam Roller is one of my favorites! Thinking they need a bigger one? Try the TRX Foam Roller.
Want to give something fancier? Try the Chirp Wheel+ . You can get 3 wheels for $99 (This company has also been seen on Shark Tank)
7. Gadgets
This little gadget is very cool. It measures running cadence, Vertical Oscillation, Vertical Ratio, Ground Contact Time, and Ground Contact Time Balance. Unlike a running watch, it does NOT measure pace; however it does measure so many other factors that can affect a runner’s pace.
If your runner has any of the following Garmin watches, consider getting this fun gift!
– Forerunner 735XT
– Forerunner 935
– Fenix 5, 5S, 5X
Aftershokz Titanium Headphones
These are wireless headphones under $100! Rare find. They are wireless with a wraparound headband, use bone conduction to deliver music, and are IP55 to repel dust, sweat, and moisture during workouts.
8. Strava Subscription
Strava is a great space to track your running! You can compete with friends, find running routes, and chart your progress. For $60, you can give your runner access to Strava for a whole year! Worth it.

9. Self Care Items
With hard runs comes the need to take care of ourselves as well. This can be face masks, bath bombs, bath salts, tea… alcohol…(I mean… they have beer at the end of every race… and beer is carbs… carbs are good for runners…)
Honestly really hoping I get something like this because I tend to spend my money on GU before I spend my money on bath bombs.
This category is all easy little things that when put together make a great gift basket.
10.Sandals
So, I said I wouldn’t put running shoes on here, but I didn’t say I wouldn’t put sandals on here.
After a long run, my FAVORITE shoes to wear are my slides.
Some recovery sandals I’ve seen are the OOFOS. Not cute, but I hear they help prevent foot damage and are incredibly comfortable.
Really, any slides on Amazon would make your feet happy after being stuck in running shoes for a couple hours. Just me? Maybe. I don’t care too much about support and cushion after a run (if your runner does, maybe stick to those OOFOS), I just care about my toes being free.
I hope you enjoyed my Runner’s Gift Guide!
If none of these suggestions caught your interest, there are plenty of others out there by Runner’s World and Road Runner Sports that might!
Happy Holidays!
XOXO,
Amy
