Week III

Week three is maybe not a polar opposite of week two, but it definitely feels better!

On Monday, I did 3 easy miles and to be honest, I was dying the entire time. Monday runs are always always always my least favorite runs! I’m the weakest and the most grumpy to run these.

On Tuesday’s we rest. Got my hair did. Did school. Really nothing too exciting other than cooking up super tasty pasta. If y’all haven’t checked out Trader Joes autumn pasta sauce, send me your address and I will personally send you some because I’m about to go buy twenty more jars just for myself.

Wednesday was a little stressful with school, so I started my day with coding and coffee. Since I waited till literally the hottest grossest part of the day, I figured I would call dibs on a treadmill and work on breathing and form. I swear I do so much better with breathing and form when I’m on the treadmill! I imagine it’s because I don’t have to focus on anything other than that. When I’m outside, you have obstacles to run around, and if you want to stop running you just… stop.

I watched the new season of Schitt’s Creek during my little 4 mile treadmill run and it was honestly one of my best feeling runs this year. Nothing hurt, I was energized and hydrated and I was moooooving!

Thursday… well… like I said… I felt soooo good on Wednesday that I decided to go drink a beer or three afterwards. So, my Thursday morning run turned into a day of stretching.

I’m a baby with hangovers. I’ve accepted this about myself.

Friday: I had a nice little easy 3 miles in! Upped the pace every 1/2 mile with no stopping and it felt pretty good to be able to push myself.

Saturday: The day I’m supposed to run 7 miles. The day one of my best friends is getting married. The day I’m staying out in the middle of nowhere. Where the hell am I supposed to run 7 miles?!?

The answer: I didn’t. I decided to enjoy the day and do my long run on Sunday.

Sunday: I ran 7 miles and duddeeeee it felt great! During the run, I did realize how much I need to get a pair of running sunglasses because I keep finding myself running during the hottest, sunniest part of the day.

So all in all pretty happy with this week. I ate well, drank more than intended (I blame Covid and the wedding), and stuck to my plan!

While I may not have stuck to my running plan in terms of what days to run what miles, I got my mileage in for the week and I’m so so SO excited for Week IV!

Until next time,

XOXO

Amy
