Week IX
So this week was the first week off of school. It was the first week I could really put everything running and health related first.
To start off, let’s talk about drinking. I work in the service industry which means after just about every shift we all grab a drink or 5 after work. This week I didn’t have a drink after every shift. I waited till the weekend to treat myself to a white sangria which helped with my running performance. I mean duh. I’m obviously going to run better if I’m not hungover (I’m the biggest weenie when it comes to being hungover.)
I also did really good this week with what I ate. I restricted the snacking (and by restricted I mean I didn’t have chips and cookies every night for breakfast. Yes I still indulged. I am who I am.)
Training went (almost) PERFECT this week. I got all my mileage in up until the long run. My long run was “technically” pushed to Monday, but I still got it done and managed to get all of my mileage done under a 10 min/mile pace. EVEN THE 16 MILES. Bitch. I’ve never ran over 13.1 miles, much less with that pace.
Currently, my fastest mile is a 8:30. Before Covid I could get a 7:30 mile, but that was also 20 pounds ago. I’m so proud of this time. When I read my older posts and remember how I felt during Week 2 and 3, I really didn’t think I could get a faster time so quickly.
Next weekend December 12th and 13th I have a 5k and a 1/2 marathon in Biloxi. I’m so beyond excited to be at a race again. It’s one thing to get the miles done on your own. It’s a whole other feeling when you have so many other people around you with the same goal.
That’s it for this week! I can’t to see what I accomplish between this week and next!
XOXO,
Amy
